CEO and Financial Advisor

Jeff is the CEO and founder of Townsend, which was established in 1990. He is a well-known financial educator and the author of The Master Plan: Retirement Strategies for the Best of Your Life and The Road to Retirement: Everything You Need to Know for a Successful Retirement. Jeff brings with him over thirty years of experience specializing in retirement planning and investment management. He has been a guest on 9NEWS, WB2 News, CBS4, KMGH-7 News, and has been a contributor to Money magazine. As empty nesters, my wife Cayle and I hope to discover more of America. We have two beautiful daughters, Nellie and Emma, who are starting their careers, and I now get to call myself a fatherin-law to Jared and grandpa to our first grandson Eli! Our goldendoodles have captured our hearts and become part of our family! Outside of the office, I enjoy cruising the countryside on my Harley, hiking, golfing, skiing, snowshoeing and spending time outdoors.

Shawn is the President of Townsend and is in charge of the various departments. Additionally, he is the firm’s Chief Compliance Officer, and has been actively involved in the securities industry since 1999. I was born and raised in Alliance, Nebraska and attended Doane University on a football scholarship. Outside of the office, I spend a considerable amount of time in the outdoors enjoying nature at its finest. A place I visit often is our home on Lake McConaughy, and when I have any free time you can find me doing home improvements or working on random projects!

John has spent 31 years in investment management for high-net-worth and institutional clients. As a former senior vice president and partner of Aspen-based Obermeyer Wood, he was responsible for the firm’s global equity strategy and provided the firm’s equity portfolio management. John has also been a key person in building several investment management businesses. John has a background in accounting and finance having earned his MBA from Arizona State University, as well as the Chartered Financial Analyst (2000) and Certified Public Accountant (2002) credentials. John is the recipient of numerous academic and professional awards and has been a regular source of opinion for major financial news outlets including CNBC, Fox Business, Barron’s, The Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg and Grant’s Interest Rate Observer. I was raised in the suburbs of Chicago and moved to Colorado after I graduated high school. I love the challenges of investment markets, but apart from work I enjoy outdoor activities, especially skiing, fishing, tennis and walking our dog Bridget. I also love staying home — cooking, reading, and playing board and card games with my three girls who are all growing too fast.

Terri is our most tenured financial advisor at Townsend, next to Jeff, and is in charge of training new financial advisors. Terri is a Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor™ who works with new and existing clients on all aspects of their retirement planning and investment management needs. I enjoy spending time with family! I have three grown children; a son and two daughters. I am a native to Colorado, grew up in Northglenn, and graduated from Northglenn High School. Raised in a large Italian family – spaghetti and wine are two favorites. Immediate family gatherings usually consist of 30 people! In the summertime I look forward to spending time with my husband Mark, where we head to the mountains for camping, hiking and the beautiful outdoor scenery.

I’m a native to Colorado, so growing up here I have spent a great deal of my time enjoying the outdoors and everything our beautiful state offers. I enjoy hunting, fishing, camping, hiking, and just about anything else that gets me outdoors. I have three grown children and have been blessed with two grandsons, and enjoy as much time as I can with them. Recently married, I am looking forward to spending time with my wife, Terri and looking forward to many happy years together.

I graduated from the University of Idaho with a B.S. in Business Finance and Economics. Outside of work I love to spend time with my girls: my wife Jennie, daughters Ella and Ivy, and our three dogs Clara, Sophie and Mikkaa. When we are not at a dance activity for our daughters, we like to spend time outside barbequing with friends in the summer, or having family movie night in the winter. Jennie and I have lived in Idaho, California, and Arizona before moving to Colorado in 2014. I am always up for trying something new and have recently began bow hunting and playing ice hockey.

I was born and raised in beautiful Colorado, but the ocean was calling my name. So, I headed off to Salve Regina University in Newport, RI for college. After four years of college, my family, friends,and our family golden retriever, Oakley, called me back home and I have been in the Boulder area ever since. I love to play a light game of golf, go boating with my family, and drink wine with my roommates and friends during the weekends. My side hobbies are going to flea markets and antique shops searching for the best hidden treasures to organize and decorate my home, as well as hoping to find time to read a good book.

Sallie possesses a Juris Doctor in Law and has practiced estate planning as an attorney in California and New York. She interprets estate planning documents, including Wills, Trusts,Life Insurance Trusts and Family Partnership Agreements. Sallie reviews clients’ existing estate documents and develops easy to understand summaries. Her responsibilities include working with clients to inform them of advanced estate planning strategies. Sallie then assists with the creation and development of clients’ plans by collaborating with the client’s attorney to ensure their plan is successfully implemented. Sallie is not registered with Securities America, Inc. Sallie is passionate about educating clients on the importance of estate planning and helping them prepare for the distribution of their estate. I was raised in Cincinnati, Ohio and attended law school at the University of Dayton. I’ve lived in Florida, New York and California. I moved to Colorado over ten years ago and I love the sunshine and beautiful mountains here. I have two young adult children and enjoy attending cultural events,shopping and cooking with them. I’m learning how to play golf and love being outdoors walking,hiking and riding my bike. I enjoy reading and have a mischievous grey cat named Lily! I like to vacation in warm, sunny places and love a good glass of chilled Sauvignon Blanc.

Drew is a key person in Townsend’s investment process and trading function, performing securities analyses, manager due diligence and macro assessments. Prior to his position with Townsend, Drew served as the vice president and analyst of Highgate Securities Investments, and equity portfolio manager at Gallacher Capital Management, LLC. In 2004, he co-founded Madison Street Partners, LLC, in Denver, Colorado, serving as lead portfolio manager for the Madison Street Master Fund, SPC, a long/short equity strategy with a focus on the financial, consumer, technology and media sectors. Drew was awarded the Chartered Financial Analyst (2000) designation in September 2000.

I was born and raised in North Carolina. I attended Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee on a golf scholarship. In my free time, I enjoy playing golf with my son, fishing for big redfish in the low country of South Carolina and taking our two English Cream Golden Retrievers Max and Bentley for runs and hikes. As a family, we enjoy exploring outside of Colorado, including everything from road trips through the western U.S. to international adventures

I regularly listen to podcasts and audiobooks, enjoy strategy board games with friends and family, and taking my dog on morning hikes with my wife. My wife and I love to try new restaurants, both local and out of town, with San Diego as one of our favorite places to visit.

My husband, Chad and I have two boys (Brooks and Maverik), a yellow lab Odin and our great pyrenees pointer mix rescue, Loki. I enjoy playing tennis, golf, racquetball and volleyball. My favorite to watch is definitely football – I like sports a lot! Outdoor activities that I enjoy are boating and all things that go with it: skiing, wakeboarding, tubing, kneeboarding and camping – I love being at the lake and travelling with my family.

Corinne’s primary role to empower the client relations team. Her responsibilities include supervising appointment books, helping facilitate client events and assisting where needed within other departments. Corinne is an exceptional addition to the client relations team, going above to serve Townsend clients.

My husband and I spend most of our spare time watching our two boys, Jace and Cade play baseball. I don’t mind it at all though, I love spending time with my family, both on and off the field. You could say my hobbies are my boys, I am proud to be actively involved in their lives. When I’m not at the baseball fields I enjoy going on walks and cooking, I particularly like making and eating Italian food … my favorite! I attended Arvada High School, and was a part of the last graduating class of the Redskins. I am happy to still call Arvada home.

As a family we enjoy spending time together, with friends and loving our fur baby Tebow (you can do the math on his age).In my spare time I love to cook, take long walks, watch football or movies and sip wine with the girlfriends. April@TownsendRetirement.com I was born in San Antonio, TX but moved to CO when I was a year old. I have called Thornton home for most of my time in CO. I married Charles in 2000 and we have two daughters. Our oldest is a freshman in college studying nursing. Our youngest daughter is starting middle school. I love the mountains and the beauty of Colorado. In my spare time, I love flipping furniture and I love to sing! If I could pick my dream job, it would be to sing! I have had the honor to sing the National Anthem for many sporting events, including the Mammoth, Denver Cutthroats and DU hockey games. My dream is to sing the National Anthem for a Bronco’s game! #GOBRONCOS For now, I sing on the weekends at my church on praise team which I love. I am so grateful to be at Townsend and I look forward to meeting you.

Linda joined the Townsend team in 2010 and recently relocated to Arizona as her husband landed a great career opportunity. Linda’s ability to build deep-rooted relationships with clients brought undeniable value to our firm; therefore, how could we say goodbye? We wanted Linda to continue sharing her genuine desire to connect and engage with clients – as a result, Linda is now responsible for contacting clients making sure that needs are being met and if additional assistance can be offered. Linda@TownsendRetirement.com My husband (CJ) and I have four beautiful children, Dalton, Carissa, Davis and Caylee – along with our two mini dachshunds. It’s been a full-circle journey watching my children grow into adults; I’ve gained a son-in-law’s and two daughter-in-law’s and I’m now the proud Grandma to several beautiful grandchildren. My heart holds so much love and joy for this family of mine! I love watching college sports; mostly football, baseball, swimming and basketball. My favorite teams are CU Buffs and Michigan, and of course the Fighting Camels of Campbell University – Caylee’s alma mater! I like being outside and active – taking walks, hiking or even just riding in the golf cart when CJ is golfing. Family is my passion, roughing it in cabins in Vernal Utah at the Green River and rafting down the Green River and boating on the Flaming Gorge Reservoir.

Christine’s primary responsibility is document control, including both paper and electronic files. She also provides our administration staff support by answering incoming calls and directing them to the correct person.

Nothing gives me greater joy and pride than motherhood; the ability to grow and learn more about myself and the world by raising and watching my child flourish into another amazing, independent strong spirit. It’s pure selflessness and love. I thoroughly enjoy the masochistic pain and the natural high associated with intense workouts, followed by debilitating soreness. Solitude is my best friend when I need to recharge. I might secretly hug trees and find their Zen-ness awesome – nature brings me happiness! Beer, wine, bourbon … yes, please.

Nato’s primary duty is to protect our clients and the firm from inherent risks. These duties cover most facets of the firms daily operations including trade reviews, to ensure our clients received the best execution price, all the way to confirming every piece of correspondence has been properly documented. Nato spent nearly a decade overseeing a nationwide network of 500+ offices for Scottrade/TD Ameritrade.

As a Colorado native who grew-up in Golden, I have an affinity for the outdoors. Due to my love of Colorado I attended the University of Denver and received a BSBA in Finance and Accounting. During my time at university I came to appreciate the city the same way I love nature. I spend my free time hiking and or taking the bicycle up Lookout Mountain. I can often be found enjoying a post ride craft beverage from one of Colorado’s world famous microbreweries on the weekend. Go Rockies!

Project Manager

David’s role as Project Manager is to collaborate with the staff to identify and complete various operational and technology initiatives. Additionally, he is the in-house IT support specialist and has been involved in the securities industry since 2010.

I’m a native Texan, lived in Florida as a toddler, grew up in New York, and have called Colorado home since 1997. I live in Reunion with my wife Andrea, son Aiden, daughter Ava, and our chihuahua-terrier Max. In my free time when I’m not on the course trying to play golf or laying down stripes on my lawn, you can find me with family and friends.
